Sadly, we are still working on the figure 8. Our major problems being how wide our turns our and the inability to finish the course without a collision. We estimate to be completely done with this challenge around mid-may.
Today We worked on the figure 8 once again, simply trying to get it all to work. We've decided to scrap our previous code and completely build it back up from the ground up. Hopefully by the end of April we will finally be done.
SO we continue to make changes to the robot trying to make this figure-eight actually come to fruition. Sadly we were not able to complete our task due to our batteries being on low charge and only able to move the robot to a certain point. We have since then put the batteries to charge and are ready to test out our fresh code the following week.
Today, we ran a series of tests to see if our programming has finally been able to solve the figure eight challenge. Unfortunately it hasn't and we will need to review it the next time we meet. Also to add to our woes the handle for our robot came apart and the machine suffered some damage that needed attending to quickly.
Today we finished our SolidWorks assignment having the robot fully represented inside the program. We still have issues with the Figure-eight, specifically the last turn before it completes the figure-eight. Next week we will work towards finishing this challenge and taking on the next one.
While I was working on finishing up the blogs, Joey was acquiring the SolidWorks parts. We are editing the Figure-eight program to finally complete its task. Hopefully by Friday we will have the program finally finished and ready to go.
So we figured out the problem with our programming is that our robot needed extra lines of code to help it make the turns we needed. It was about this time we came to the realization we had to program 2 figure 8's for our robot to do, thus we'll continue that next week.
We, are attempting to finalize our plans to complete the figure 8 task. Programming it t turn at the right time around the chairs is our biggest enemy. We'll have to revisit this problem the next time we meet, and fix the programming.
